Abstract:
Materials related to the work of Deborah Meadows. Deborah Meadows is a poet, playwright, and essayist whose work includes <title>Goodbye Tissues</title>, <title>Itenerant Man</title> and <title>Representing Absence</title>. Meadows has worked with poets in Cuba and Buenos Aires. The collection includes Meadows' correspondence, notes, drafts, and other related materials.

Copyright of papers in the collection may be held by their authors, or the authors' heirs or assigns. Researchers must obtain the written permission of the holder(s) of copyright and Poetry Collection before requesting photocopies and/or publishing quotations from materials in the collection. Once permission is obtained, most papers may be copied in accordance with the library's usual procedures unless otherwise specified.
Scope and Content:
The Deborah Meadows collection contains correspondence, drafts, notes, and other materials related to the written and visual works of Deborah Meadows. Series I Written and Visual Works includes drafts, notes, letters, lithographs, and other material related to various works by Deborah Meadows. Series II Conferences and Travels consists of letters, notes, proofs, travel records, and other material linked with conferences as well as travels to Cuba and Argentina. This series also includes application material for Meadows's application for Los Angeles Poet Laureate. Series III Correspondence contains letters and print outs of emails to various acquaintances of Deborah Meadows. Finally, Series IV includes books, manuscripts, and poetry journals by other authors many of whom Deborah Meadows was acquainted with. The manuscripts are by Otto "Bill" Fick, J. Mirelles, and Justin Katko. Many of the publications in this series are in Spanish.

Publications and manuscriptsSeries III is arranged alphabetically by last name with two additional files of "miscellaneous" letters and emails accessioned later added at the end. Note: The files of the collection were meticulously arranged by Deborah Meadows before donating to the Poetry Collection. Much of the arrangement and file naming of the collection keeps in line with Meadows' arrangement.
